Who we are

CarWizz (https://car-wizz.com) is a free car-research service operated by Luka, founder of CarWizz. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact our person responsible for personal information at carwizz29@gmail.com.

CarWizz is run from Canada and serves users in Canada and the United States. This policy is written to meet Canada's PIPEDAand Quebec's privacy law, and to respect the rights of visitors elsewhere.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — if you sign in, we receive your email address, and (with “Sign in with Google”) your name and profile picture from Google.
• Messages — anything you send through the contact form (an optional name and email, plus your message).
• Newsletter — your email address and chosen region, if you subscribe.
• Feedback and quiz answers — the selections and comments you submit when you use the quiz or leave feedback.
• Your questions to our tools — the free text you type into the “Ask” and “Lookup” features so we can generate a recommendation.

Information collected automatically

• Usage counts — how many recommendations you've used, so we can apply the free monthly limit.
• Technical and security data — your IP address and basic request details, kept in a short-lived security log to prevent abuse. We deliberately do not log the content of your questions in this security log.
• Analytics — aggregate, privacy-friendly usage statistics (page views, general performance) through Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.

We do not collect payment information, because CarWizz is free.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run CarWizz, and only as needed for the purposes above. Each is bound to protect it.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

Processing outside your country

CarWizz and its providers store and process data in the United States and, for the AI feature only, in China. In particular, the free text you type into the “Ask” and “Lookup” tools is sent to DeepSeek, an AI provider that processes data on servers in China, in order to produce your recommendation. Countries outside Canada may have different privacy protections, and their authorities may be able to access data under local law. Please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as your full name, address, financial details, or health information) into these free-text tools.

How long we keep it

• Account and usage data — while your account is active; deleted on request.
• Contact messages — as long as needed to handle your request and our records.
• Newsletter — until you unsubscribe.
• Security logs — a short period, then automatically discarded.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• see the personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your account and associated data;
• withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter); and
• receive a copy of the information you gave us.

To make a request, email carwizz29@gmail.com. We respond within the timeframe the law requires. If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Children

CarWizz is intended for people aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as CarWizz evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use CarWizz after a change means you accept the updated policy.
